A nod to our own bearded athlete, soon to return home… (tomorrow, in fact!!!)

Making breakfast isn’t just about eating.

So says Lucas Parker, two-time CrossFit Games competitor from the Canada West Region. Parker is perhaps best known for his beard and body hair, as well as propensity for getting naked or rocking a tuque and Speedo swimsuit.

“I think it’s important to try to find structure and purpose in everything you do—for training for the CrossFit Games to making breakfast,” he says while cooking bacon in his bathrobe.

1.  Clean and Jerk skill work:

     a.  Power Clean + Clean and Jerk: 60% x1 PC + 2 C&J, 65% x1 PC+2 C&J, 80%x1+1+1×2
     b.  Clean Pulls: 2 sets of 3 at 95%  Clean 1RM
c.  Good Mornings: 3 x 8 -you choose the weight.

2. Gym WOD – Clean and Jerk 5×1


  1. Power Clean and C&J Skill work:
    85#. 90#. 112#
    Clean Pulls 135# x3 x3
    Clean and Jerk
    125-130-135-140-145 clean only failed on the jerk. ( My knees went forward and weight into my toes in my dip. So, in turn my bar was forward in my catch and couldn’t lock it out.) BUT 145 is a PR for my clean. 🙂

  2. Power Clean + Clean and Jerk: 165# x1 PC + 2 C&J, 180 x1 PC+2 C&J, 225 x 1+1+1 x 2
    Clean Pulls: 2 sets of 3 at 225
    Good Mornings: 3 x 8 95#
    WOD: 205,210,215,220,225
