If someone can scale this overhang, we can certainly scale the qualifiers

Rock climbing - scaling

"The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability
making it the perfect application for any committed individual
regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines
for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters
one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity;
we don’t change programs.

The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by
degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike
riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the
same regimen."
                                                    – Coach Glassman

So, what does this mean for you?

Scaling will be allowed at the Great Basin Regional Qualifiers in April*

The Great Basin Regional Qualifiers are not just an event to get someone to the championships in Aromas this July; this is YOUR GAMES.
CrossFit is not limited to anyone, therefore neither is this. It really
seems like, when you first try CrossFit, you either love it and become
addicted (which I assume you are since you are reading this), or, you
hate it. CrossFit is an attitude, not just a strength and conditioning
program. If you have this "attitude", you need to go and compete in the Games. You don't have to be the strongest or the fastest or the most
lean to compete; as you know from doing the WOD's, it is also very much
about mental toughness! The ability to push through anything when all
your body is telling you is to stop; your mind will fail you before
your body. Don't let this happen when you are thinking about competing.
Just go for it and have FUN!
You know that feeling you get when you finish your very last rep in a
workout that makes you want to cry? Your arms are shaking and numb,
your legs feel weak, ready to collapse if you haven't already and all
you can do is cough up lung butter, yeah, I know. But at the same time,
you feel strong, a sense of accomplishment. You feel great! Now,
imagine this feeling when you have hundreds of people cheering you on.
WOW! No matter what fitness level you are at, you still work just as
hard as everyone. You are still CrossFit! Now, sign up and compete.  Look at it as another race, another goal to train for!  There will be others there in your arena.  Come and be part of your larger community!

"You might regret what you do, but you will regret what you don't do so much more".

*Scaled WOD's will however take you out of the running for the top 6 to go to California.
