Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

Today, we honor that tribute with a benchmark workout that dedicates itself to labor that makes us stronger, works with others to assist them in getting stronger, and teaches us to move objects and our bodies in a way that we can influence the environment we live in with greater confidence and ability. 

CrossFit Benchmark WOD – “Linda ”
aka – 3 Bars of Death

10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 rep rounds of the triplet:

Deadlift: 1 1/2x body weight
Bench Press
: body weight
Clean: 3/4 body weight

Set up three bars and storm through for time.

Scale to even numbered sets to manage time in under 30 minutes.

What an incredible day with “Linda”!  Lots of reps creating great practice time under the barbell, pushing heavier weights than people thought possible for themselves, working together to get that work done by spotting each other on the Bench Press, and just a general exciting energy in the gym on this Labor Day!  Great work everyone!

Be proud of your efforts, no matter where you were today.  Meet yourself where you are and know you gave your best self to it.  TODAY.  And grow forward.  There should never be an expectation of where you “should” be, or self-deprecation because you weren’t where your self-talk told you that you “should” be and maybe weren’t.  Where you are today is where you should be.  Give yourself some credit and go on with your day, knowing you gave what you had in this moment.
