Wow that is a lot of front squats but you are getting stronger! The front squat strength cycle is in the home stretch so please don’t look ahead and plan not to come in when we squat. As coaches we understand that its getting tougher to get through the sets and reps at 80% of your 1RM but that’s the point. An increase in strength can only happen if you stress your body enough for an adaptation to happen. If you are feeling very sore or worn down from the series don’t skip a day. Come in, let a coach know how you are feeling, and work at a lower intensity. That can be a decrease in weight even to the extent of doing air squats but most importantly you are not missing out on a day to get better. Its understandable if its been a long day and you need a mental break but if you can make it in and don’t because you see the front squats you are missing out.
